Plumbing Courses and Training

“People always need a plumber.”

So he started looking around for a training provider. His criteria were that they had to offer the right qualifications, have flexible courses and trained lots of students that went onto have successful careers. He got started straight away on the course despite still working time. He would get home from work at seven in the evening, cook dinner and then hit the books at nine. In the end he finished the course in just six short months.

“I set up my business before I finished the course so I was all set to go. In the last five weeks I’ve had 100 hits on my website every week and I’ve had lots of work. Once I started, things really snowballed.”

Daniel absolutely loves running his own plumbing business. He doesn’t really see it as work. He had never really enjoyed any of his previous jobs until now. He also gets all the spare time he needs to see his family and have a “life”.

“We all get to sit down and have dinner together now and we can even go out for a meal. I can pick them up from nursery and have the whole evening together. It makes things easier on my wife too.”

Daniel made a big decision to give up his big salary and perks ... a decision made even bigger considering he had a young family to support ... but he hasn’t looked back since ... he is completely relaxed and he is his own boss. His dad had been in retail for 30 years but completely out of the blue he was made redundant. He used the opportunity to do something that he had always wanted to do - start his own business. So he retrained as an electrician and started an electrical contractors business. After a short space of time his business was booming.

Antony’s dad suggested he do the same. His dad had used New Career Skills (NCS) to get trained so he told Antony to contact them. After speaking to NCS Antony thought he would be better at plumbing than electrics.

He was apprehensive at first but his dad highly recommended going for it ... and he had seen how successful his dad been after qualifying ... so he went for it ... got stuck into the training and came out a qualified and skilled plumber.

Now he owns his own thriving plumbing business - AJC Plumbing and he says that being a business owner miles better than his old jobs.

“Working is so much better now, I don’t have to answer to anybody else. Selling life insurance in telesales was just cold calling people; now people call me!”

Even though Antony and his dad have separate plumbing and electrical companies they still work together a lot and refer each other work. He is very pleased with his decision to change and improve his life ... although the work can be more challenging now ... he is finding it so much more rewarding.
