What Would A 50 Year Young Lady Do For A New Career?

Lorraine DotchinMeet Lorraine Dotchin ... 50 years old from Manchester. After spending most of her working life in IT, Lorraine decided that she needed a change ... a new lease of life. But what and how?

For many years she had a very good job as a senior network engineer, but she had grown frustrated with it. She was fed up ... had no satisfaction ... lacked a challenge ... was stuck in an office and got blamed for others mistakes. Enough was enough.

She decided that she wanted to have her own business. But unlike most women she didn’t choose to set up a hairdresser or a florist or a cafe ... no ... she had her mind set on plumbing. She enjoyed DIY and had a fascination with the plumbing and heating side of it.

After methodically researching her training options she decided that New Career Skills was by far the best option for her. She was able to study around her work and life commitments - she found the training to be exceptional and it didn’t take her long to finish the course and get qualified.

Whilst training Lorraine used New Career Skills specialist recruitment and business start up division ... called NCS Career Search. They made sure she had everything she needed to make a huge success of her business. She wasted no time and went straight into business for herself.

Following the advice of NCS Career Search she launched her first marketing campaign. Before it went live she said to her husband that she hoped the phone would ring and that they didn’t waste their money on it. A week later she told her husband that she wanted to pause the marketing as she had more business than she could handle.

Now Lorraine is working towards her gas certifications and looking to expand her business.

“There is just plenty of work! It’s fantastic – day by day it’s incredibly good, enjoyable, hugely frustrating sometimes, but marvellous! I simply cannot understand why I vacillated about becoming a plumber for so long. I should have done it years ago!”
